The Daymark project consisted of two new large multi-story apartment buildings with a combination of townhome & retail spaces on the first floor. Level 1 in both buildings was metal stud framed, while Levels 2-6 were wood framed construction. Drive Lane walls were a Dryvit EIFS system while the majority of canopies and exterior ceilings were a DEFS system. Closed cell spray foam was installed at metal framed exterior walls to provide insulation and a vapor barrier. Custom light gauge roof trusses were designed and installed to create the signature cupola feature on the North building. Load Bearing Metal Framing and Composite Metal Decking was utilized in the townhomes to create interior mezzanines in each unit.
The entire project resulted in over 300 new high-end apartments, 11 townhomes, and over 20,000 SF of retail/office space.
The biggest challenge was maintaining an accelerated schedule on a project with 2 separate buildings being built on the same site. This required coordination between 5 different trades for Olympic internally as well as coordination with the rest of the trade partners on site. Daily huddles were utilized to keep communication and progress current between everyone on the job.
